天理 vs. 道理 (dàolǐ): Don't confuse 天理 with
道理 (dàolǐ). While both contain 理 (principle), 道理 refers to everyday reason, logic, and the “point” of an argument. If someone is being unreasonable, you say they 不讲道理 (bù jiǎnglǐ). 天理 is the ultimate, cosmic principle, while 道理 is the mundane, human-level principle.
